A man saved `₹6,60,000` in `20` years. In each succeeding year after the first year he saves `₹ 2,000` more than he saved in the previous year. How much did he save in the first year?

Here, we have an AP in which ` S_(20) = 660000, d= 2000 ` and we have to find the value of a.
Using the formula ` S_(n) = n/2 xx [ 2a +(n-1) xx 2000]`
` Rightarrow 10xx [ 2a + 19 xx 2000] = 660000`
` Rightarrow 20a + 380000 = 660000 rRightarrow 20a = 280000 Rightarrow a= 14000`
Hence, the man saved ₹ 14000 in the first year.
