If a,b,c, are in AP, prove that a^(3) + ...

If a,b,c, are in AP, prove that `a^(3) + 4b^(3)+c^(3)= 3b (a^(2)+c^(2))`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Since a,b,c are in AP, we have ` b = 1/2 (a+c)`
` " RHS"= 3.""1/2 (a+c)(a^(2)+c^(2))=3/2(a^(3)+c^(3)+ac^(2)+a^(2)c)`
and LHS `a^(3)+4 .((a+c)/2)^(3)+c^(3)=3/2(a^(3)+c^(3)+ac^(3) +a^(2)c)`
LHS = RHS
