At room temperature , `N_2` is much less reactive.

Bond enthalpy of `N_2` at room temperature is very high (941.4 kJ `"mol"^(-)`). This is because of the presence of one `sigma` and two `pi` bonds in `N_2`.
As it is difficult to break the bond, it is much less reactive at room temperature.
