Give reasons :
(i) Aniline is a weaker base than cyclohexyl amine.
(ii) It is difficult to prepare pure amines by a ammonlysis of alkyl halides.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) Cyclohexyl amine is more basic than aniline becuase aniline is a resonance hybrid of various resonance structures. As a result, in aniline the electron donating capacity of nitrogen for protonation is considerably decreased.
