The equivalent capacitance of the combin...

The equivalent capacitance of the combination between A and B in the given figure is `4 mu F ` .
Calculate charge on each capacitor if a 12 V battery is connected across terminals A and B .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As `C_(eq) = 4 mu F ` and `V = 12 V`
`therefore` Total charge `Q = C_(eq) V = 4 mu F xx 12 V = 48 mu C`
In series combination charge on each capacitor is same hence , `C_(1) = C_(2) = 48 mu C`
