Factorize 9x^2 -22x+8....

Factorize `9x^2 -22x+8`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The given expression is `9x^2-22x+8`.
Here , ` 9xx 8 =72`
We split -22 into two parts whose sum is -22 and product 72.
Clearly, `(-18)+(-4)=-22 and (-18)xx (-4) =72`
`therefore 9x^2-22x+8=9x^2-18x -4x +8`
` =9x(x-2)-4(x-2)`
`=(x-2)(9x-4)`.
Hence , `(9x^2-22x+8) =(x-2)(9x-4)`.
