If x+y =12 and xy = 27; find the value o...

If `x+y =12 and xy = 27`; find the value of `x^3+y^3`

Text Solution

We have
`(x^3+y^3)=(x+y)(x^2-xy+y^2)`
` =(x+y)[(x+y)^2-3xy]`
`=12xx [(12)^2-3xx27]`
`=12 xx (144 -81)=12xx 63=756`.
`therefore (x^3+y^3)=756`.
