It is given that

`rArr .^(n)C _((r-2)) : .^(n)C_((r-1)) : .^(n) C _(r) = 1: 3 : 5 `
`rArr (.^(n) C _(r-2) )/(.^(n)C _(r-1)) = 1/3 and (.^(n) C _(r-1))/(.^(n) C r ) = 3/5`.
But,`(.^(n)C_(r-2))/(.^(n)C_(r-1))=1/3 rArr (n!)/(((r-2)!*)(n-r+2)!)xx ((r-1)!*(n-r+1)!)/(n!) =1/3`
` rArr ((r-1))/((n-r+2))=1/3`
`rArr n-4r = -5 " "` ...(i)
And, `(.^(n) C _(r-1))/(.(n) C _(r)) = 3/5 rArr r/ ((n -r+1)) = 3/5 `

Solving (i) and (ii) , we get `n= 7 and r=3.`
Hence, `n=7and r=3.
