The temperature of two bodies measured by a thermometer are `t_(1) = 20^(@)C pm 0.5^(@)C` and `t_(2)=50^(@)C pm 0.5^(@)C`. Calculate the temperature difference and the error theirin.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Temperature difference `t=t_(2)-t_(1)`
`=50-20`
`=30^(@)C`
Absolute error `Deltat-Deltat_(1)+Deltat_(2)` (sum of error)
`=0.5+0.5`
`=1.0^(@)C`
By keeping error in mind, temperature differene `=t+-Deltal`
`=30^(@)C+-1.0^(@)C`
