How can DNA segment, separated by gel electrophoresis be visualised and isolated ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The separated DNA molecules are visualised only agter staining DNA with ethidium bromide followed by exposure to UV radiation, as bright orange coloured bands. The separated bands of DNA (on the gel) are cut from the agarose gel and extracted from the gel piece and the process is called elution .
