(i) Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) : To detect HIV in suspected AIDS patients.
(ii) Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) : To detect antigens (proteins, glycoproteins etc., ) of pathogens or antibodies synthesized against the pathogen.
