Let a be the maximum acceleration with which the boy can climb the rope. Then, the maximum tension in the rope will be
`T_(max) = m( g+a)`
but `,T_(max) = 500 N `( Given )
`therefore 500 =40 xx (10 +a) or a= 2.5 ms^(-2)`
