Why do HCl, `HNO_(3)`, etc., show acidic characters in aqueous solutions while solution of compounds like alcohol and glucose do not show acidic character ?

HCl and `HNO_3` produce `H^+` in aqueous solution Hence they show acidic character.
Alcohol and glucose do not produce `H^+` in aqueous solution, hence they do not show acidic character.
