(a) Define the term 'chemotherapy'.
(b) While antacids and anti allergic drugs interfere with the function of histamines, why do these not interfere with the function of each other?

(a) Chemotherapy : The branch of chemistry which deals with the treatment of diseases using suitable chemicals is known as chemotherapy.
(b) Drugs designed to cure some ailment in one organ in the body do not affect the other because they work in different receptors. For example, secretion of histamine causes allergy as well as acidity in stomach. Since anti allergic and antacid drugs work on different receptors, therefore, antihistamines cure allergy while antacids remove acidity.
