Explain the term biofortification. How is this technique useful for the production of golden rice?

Explanation

Biofortification is the enrichment of crops with nutrients of higher levels of vitamins, minerals, proteins and fat content. Golden rice is an example of GM crop, the grains of golden rice are yellow as it contains Bcarotene which is precursor of vitamin A and it is produced to control night blindness and to overcome vitamin A deficiency.
