Dispersal of seeds away from the main plant by a number of modes is very important. These modes may include one or a combination of gravity, wind, water or animals. Seed dispersal has several advantages for the plant such as:
1. Protection from predation and avoids intraspecific competition.
2. Distribution of seeds avoids the problem of competition for basic requirements and results in the healthy growing plant. Helps in rapid evolution.
