Let y = f(x) = `(e^x + e^-x)/2 rArr (e^x)^2 - 2ye^x + 1 = 0`
Since `e^x` is real , `4x^2 - 4.1 ge 0 rArr y^2 ge 1 rArr absy ge 1`
Also, `y ge 0,` so `y ge 1`
`therefore` Range of f = `[1, infty)`
