A block of mass 1 kg is tied to a string of length 1 m, the other end of which is fixed. The block is moved on a smooth horizontal table with constant speed `10ms^(-1)` . Find the tension in the string.

The ball in Fig does not accelerate vertically . Therefore, we model if as a particle in equlibrium in the verticle direction . It experiences a centripetal acceleration in the horizontal direction in this case ,contriprtal force is provided by tension

`sum F_(y) = N - mg = 0`
`N = mg`
`sum F_(x) = T = ma_(c) = (mv^(2))/(r )`
`T = (mv^(2))/(r) = (1 xx 10^(2))/(1) = 100N`
