Two unequal masses are ties together with a cord with a compressed spring in between.
Which one is correct?

A

(a) Both masses with have equal KE.

B

(b) Lighter block will have greater KE.

C

(c) Heavier block will have greater KE.

D

(d) None of above answers is correct.

The correct Answer is:
B

That is, `K=(P^2)/(2m)` and `|vecP_1|=|vecP_2|`, hence, `K_1/K=m_1/m_2`.
i.e., KE of the two blocks will not be equal but in the inverse ratio of their masses and so lighter block will have greater KE.
