(i)`ClO_(2)` is a powerful oxidizing agent chlorinating agent. Large quantities of CIO_(2)` are used for bleaching wood pulp and cellulose and for purifying drinking water.
(ii)It is an excellent bleaching agent. Its bleaching powder is about `30` times higher than that of `CI_(2)` and is used for bleaching flour to make white bread.
