If `f(x)=3x^2+15 x+5,`then the approximate value of `f (3. 02)`is(A) 47.66 (B) 57.66 (C) 67.66 (D) 77.66

A

`47.66`

B

`57.66`

C

`67.66`

D

`77.66`

The correct Answer is:
D

`f(x) = 3x^(2) + 15x + 5`
` rArr f'(x) = 6x+15`
Let` x = 3 and h = 0.02`
Now `f(x+h) = f(x) + hf'(x)`
` rArr f(3.02) = f(x) + hf'(x)`
` = (3 xx3^(2)+15 xx 3 + 5)`
`+ 0.02 xx(6 xx3 + 15)`
` = 77 + 0.66 = 77.66` .
