Let A and B be any two events such that ...

Let A and B be any two events such that P(A) = `(1)/(2)` and P(B) = `(1)/(3)`. Then find the value of `P(A' nn B')' + P(A' uu B')'`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`P(A) = (1)/(2), P(B) = (1)/(3)`
`P(A' uu B')' = P(A nn B)`
and `P(A' nn B') = P(A uu B)`
`P(A' nn B')' + P(A' uu B')'`
`=P(A uu B) + P(A nn B)`
`=P(A) + P(B)`
`= (1)/(2) + (1)/(3) = (5)/(6)`
