Explain thermalreduction, gravity separation in extraction of metals.

Pyrometallurgy is the process of extraction of metal from its concentrated ore by heating it is to high temperature. At high temperature, the ore is generally converted into oxide by calcination or roasting, This metal oxide is the heated with some reducing agent (coke or CO) to reduce it to metal (smelting).
