Acylation of —`NH_2` group in aniline reduces its reactivity in electrophilic substitution reactions.

On acylation of aniline, the low pair of nitrogen interact with oxygen due to resummon as shown below.

Hence, the low pair of electron is less available for donation to benzene ring by resonance. Therefore activating effect of `-NHCOOH_(3)` group is less than amino group `(-NH_(2))`.
