Hydrogen gqas `(H_(2))` is produced when a reactive metal reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid. Iron and dilute `H_(2)SO_(4)` react as follows :
`Fe_((s)) + H_(2)SO_(4(dil)) to FeSO_(4(aq)) + H_(2(g))`
