The bob of a simple pendulum of length 1...

The bob of a simple pendulum of length 1 m has mass 100g and a speed of 1.4 m/ s at the lowest point in its path. Find the tension in the string at this moment. Take `g=9.8 m//sec^(2) (AS_(1))`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A, B

At lowest point
`T=mg+(mv^2)/r`
`Here `m=100 gm=1/10 kg, `
`r=1m,v `
`v=1.4 m/sec`
`T=mg+(mv^2)/r`
`=(1/10)x9.8+((1.4)^2)/10`
`=0.98xx0.196`
`=1.176~~1.2N`
