Weak Acid does not dissociate completely...

Weak Acid does not dissociate completely into its ions. It is in equilibrium with its conugate base. Greater is the stability of conjugate base, greater is value of k for that equilibrium making the equilibrium move in `(Haoverset(K)hArrH+A^(-))` forward direction i.e. more is the degree of dissociation of that acid. Same is the case for weak bases. Factors affecting the stability of conjugate acid or base are electronic effect like resonance effect and inductive effect acting upon the species.
Which of the following is having most acidic `alpha`-Hydrogen?

A

`CH_(3)-NO_(2)`

B

`underset(NO_(2))underset(|)(CH_(2))-NO_(2)`

C

`NO_(2)-underset(NO_(2))underset(|)(CH)-NO_(2)`

Which of the following is strongest acid?

At infinite dilution, the percentage dissociation of both weak acid and weak base is:

The dissociation constant of a base MOH is 4xx10^(-6) then calculate the dissociation constant of its conjugate acid

Conjugate base of a strong acid is

How does water help in the dissociation of acids and base?

Acid strength is measured by the position of equilibrium of ionization in water. In other words acid strength is the function of the stability of conjugate base of the acid. More is the stability of conjugate base of the acid, more is the acidity of acid. Which of the following is weakest acid?

A weak acid has a strong conjugate base and a strong acid has a weak conjugate base.
