Find the equation of the circle with center `(−3,2)` and radius 4

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The equation for a circle with center (a,b) and radius r is,
`(x−a)^2+(y−b)^2=r^2`
Here, `a = -3 , b = 2 and 2 = 4`
So, equation of circle,
`(x+3)^2+(y-2)^2 = 4^2`
`x^2+9+6x+y^2+4-4y = 16`
`x^2+y^2+6x-4y-3 = 0`
