(d) For negative potential the diode becomes reverse biased whereas for positive potetnital diode is forward biased.
For `V_(i) lt 0`
the diode is reverse biased and hence offer infinite resistnace, so circuit would be like as shown in Fig.
`(2)` and `V_(0) = 0`.
For `V_(i) gt 0`, the diode is forward biased and circuit would be as shown in Fig. `(3)` and `V_(0) = V_(i)`
Hence, the otical `(d)` is correct.
