The current flowing through a conductor ...

The current flowing through a conductor is 2 mA at 50V and 3 mA at 60V. Is it an ohmic or nonohmic conductor ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

` R_1 = (V_1)/( I_1 ) = (50 )/(2 xx 10 ^(-3)) = 25,000 Omega `
` R_2 = (V_2)/ (I _2) = (60 )/(3 xx 10 ^(-3)) =20,000 Omega`.
As resistance changes with I, therefore conductor is non ohmic.
