(i) What is the effect of adding a catalyst to a reversible reaction?
(ii) What is the effect of adding an inert gas to a reversible reaction?
(iii) How does temperature change affect a reversible reaction?

Text Solution

(i) On adding a catalyst in reversible reaction, equilibrium attained in lesser time but value of `Kc` does not change.
(ii) If we add inert gas at constant volume, value of Kc does not change. But if we add inert gas at constant pressure equilibrium shift in the direction towards greater number of moles of gaseous substance.
