If z is a complex number such that `|z - barz| +|z + barz| = 4` then find the area bounded by the locus of z.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have `|z - bar z| +|z + barz|= 4`
`therefore " " |2iy| +|2x|= 4`
` rArr |x| +|y|=2`

This equation forms square with vertices `(pm 2,0)` and `(0, pm2)`
so, area of square is 8 sq.units
