2.0About KSEAB & SSLC

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) is the statutory body responsible for conducting the Karnataka SSLC (Class 10) board examinations. The board frames the syllabus, prescribes the exam pattern, textbooks and evaluation norms to ensure students enter higher secondary studies with a solid foundation.

For the 2025-26 session, students must refer to the latest syllabus and exam pattern released by KSEAB and ensure they prepare accordingly.

3.0KSEAB Class 10 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

Here’s how the exam pattern generally works under KSEAB:

The exam is conducted three times by the board namely Exam 1, Exam 2 and Exam 3 and the students will get the opportunity to better their performance twice in the academic year. A typical pattern of the question paper is mentioned below:

  • Theory Component: Usually 80 marks for most subjects (except languages) for external written exam
  • Internal/Practical Component: 20 marks for internal assessment, practicals, projects, or oral work depending on the subject.
  • Duration: Each paper is of 3 hours duration, with additional reading time (around 15 minutes) before writing begins.
  • Mode: The exam is conducted offline (pen-and-paper)
