Define radius ratio. Give the limiting r...

Define radius ratio. Give the limiting radius ratio value for a co-ordination number of 6.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Radius ratio is defined as the ratio of the radius of the cation to that of anion in any ionic crytal.
OR
Radius ratio `= (r_+)/(r_-)`
Where `r_+ and r_-` are ratio of cation and anion respectively .
