JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts Revised to Two
The Joint Admission Board, JAB has canceled the decision to increase the number of attempts for the examination of JEE Advanced. All details are provided below:
- This was done on 5th November, 2024. JAB has enhanced the attempt from two to three for admission in JEE Advanced.
- Current Update on 15th Nov 2024: On analysis, JAB has returned to the earlier two-attempt limit for JEE Advanced exam.
Number of Attempts (Criterion A3): JEE Advanced would be attempted a maximum of two times over two successive years. This would mean sitting for it in the very year you pass Class 12, followed by the succeeding year.
- Class XII Examination-Class XII Criterion-A4: You should have appeared for Class 12 or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025. Examination subjects are: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Previous Attempts Important Note: Any Candidate who has appeared for Class 12 exam for the first time in 2023 or earlier is not eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025. This holds irrespective of the subjects attempted and whether the exam was conducted or not.
Exemption for Some 2023 Applicants:
If the result is declared by the Board on or after September 21st, 2023, for Class 12 of session 2022-23 and provided other eligibility criteria for the year 2025 are fulfilled, then a candidate is eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2025.
