MPBSE Class 12 Mathematics Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The subject of Mathematics is very important for MPBSE Class 12 students of the MP Board M.P.B.S.E., as many students go to college to become engineers, education specialists (B.Sc. and Data Technology), banker, etc., or work in technical industries (such as Information Technology) through examination and testing.

It is expected that all students of Class 12 Mathematics will thoroughly understand their syllabus, create and develop concepts, practice and prepare thoroughly in order to receive a pass mark on their mathematics examination.

This is the latest edition of the Mathematics syllabus for the Class 12, whereas an official outline has been provided by the M.P.B.S.E., along with a complete description of all level of marks that can be allocated for each chapter.

1.0Introduction

As a result of the official timetable provided by the M.P. Board, students will take their Mathematics Exam on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 9 a.m. and end at 12 noon (local time). A student must have many hours of practice on the NCERT problems and past Maths examinations in order to attain a high score on this important Math subject.

4.0Preparation Strategy for MPBSE Class 12 Maths Exam

Scoring high in MP Board Maths requires daily written practice and focusing on the core high-weightage topics.

Focus on High-Yield Chapters (33 Marks)

  • Integrals (12 Marks): This is the single highest-scoring chapter. Practice all three major techniques: Substitution, By Parts, and Partial Fractions. Thoroughly practice the properties of definite integrals.
  • Continuity and Differentiability (8 Marks): Master Chain Rule, logarithmic differentiation, and parametric forms. These are guaranteed 3- and 4-mark questions.
  • Vector Algebra and 3D Geometry (14 Marks Combined): These are straightforward and score highly. Focus on the shortest distance between two skew lines and the equation of planes.

Practice Techniques

  • NCERT is the Base: The MP Board exam is heavily based on the NCERT textbook. Solve every example and exercise problem at least twice.
  • Create a Formula Chart: Maintain a sheet or booklet of all formulas from Trigonometry, Differentiation, and Integration. Review this chart every day before starting practice.
  • Solve PYQs: Practice MP Board Previous Year Question Papers (PYQs) and Model Papers to understand the long-answer question structure and expected complexity.
  • Step-wise Presentation: In the exam, ensure every step of the solution is clearly written. Even if the final answer is wrong, the correct intermediate steps carry significant marks.
  • Re-attempt Difficult Questions: Maintain a "Mistake Register" where you re-solve complex Calculus and Application of Derivative questions until you master the concept.

Frequently Asked Questions

The subject is assessed for a total of 100 marks. This is split into 80 marks for the theory (written) examination and 20 marks for internal assessment or project work.

The theory paper is structured to give significant weight to objective questions (MCQs, Fill in the Blanks, etc.) and subjective problems. Approximately 40% of the paper (32 marks) consists of Objective Type questions, testing basic formulas and definitions. The remaining $60\%$ (48 marks) cover short and long answer problems, including derivations and application-based questions.

Calculus (Chapters 5 to 9) carries the highest weightage, totaling approximately 35 marks out of 80. Within Calculus, the chapters on Integrals (Chapter 7) and Continuity and Differentiability (Chapter 5) are the most crucial for scoring high.

Yes. The MPBSE curriculum is based entirely on the NCERT textbook. Students should aim to solve every example, miscellaneous exercise, and exercise problem from the NCERT textbook at least twice to ensure thorough coverage.
