  • Theory Component: 100 marks fo All subjects except Science. For Science 75 marks theory and 25 marks practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu conducts the SSLC Class 10 board exams. It also prescribes the official syllabus, exam pattern, and evaluation criteria for all government and private schools in the state.

Students appear for five core subjects Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science along with one optional language (like Hindi, Sanskrit, or French).

Each subject carries 100 marks, divided into 85 marks for theory and 15 marks for internal assessment. The total exam duration is 2 hours 30 minutes, and the paper includes MCQs, short, and long answer questions.

Students must score a minimum of 35 marks out of 100 in each subject to pass the SSLC examination.

Internal marks are awarded based on projects, assignments, attendance, class tests, and practical performance (for Science). These marks are submitted by schools to DGE before the final exam.
