8.0JEE Main Session 2 Result and Percentile Calculation

The JEE Main result is declared in the form of a percentile score, not raw marks.

Percentile Score Explained

  • Indicates the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or less than a candidate
  • Calculated based on normalization across multiple shifts

If a candidate appears in both sessions:

  • Best percentile of Session 1 and Session 2 is considered for the final rank list

The result also determines eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026.

9.0Importance of JEE Main Session 2 for Rank Improvement

Session 2 provides a strategic advantage:

  • Students have more time to prepare
  • Performance pressure is relatively lower
  • Previous mistakes from Session 1 can be corrected
  • Higher chances of improving percentile

Many top rankers have significantly improved their scores in JEE Main session 2.

10.0Preparation Strategy for JEE Main Session 2

To maximize performance:

  • Analyze Session 1 scorecard (if applicable)
  • Focus on weak topics and accuracy
  • Practice previous years’ question papers
  • Take full-length mock tests regularly
  • Revise NCERT thoroughly, especially for Chemistry

Time management and consistency are crucial during the final weeks.
