Frequently Asked Questions

In order to provide a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary educational experience, the NCERT combined the distinct history, geography, and civics textbooks into a single integrated textbook, "Exploring Society: India and Beyond," in accordance with the new educational policies.

The fundamental ideas from the previous syllabus are covered in the new textbook, but they have been streamlined. It eliminates some unnecessary material and concentrates on the most important subjects, presenting them in a fresh thematic framework.

The official PDF is available on the NCERT website in the 'Textbooks PDF (I-XII)' section. To view the most recent edition, choose "Social Science" and "Class VI."

Indeed, the exam format is probably going to change to reflect the new integrated curriculum. In order to assess students' conceptual understanding as opposed to rote memorisation, questions may be more analytical and ask them to make connections between various chapters and themes.

Students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are enhanced by this new integrated approach. It helps them develop a greater understanding of history, geography, and civics while preparing them for more difficult subjects in later grades by teaching them to view the world as an interconnected system.
