The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) is the official government body responsible for conducting school-level board examinations across Punjab, India. Established under the Punjab Act, PSEB oversees curriculum, examination, and certification for students in Classes 5, 8, 10, and 12 across thousands of affiliated schools in the state. The official website is pseb.ac.in.
Every year, lakhs of students appear in the PSEB board exams — including regular school students, private candidates, open school learners, and compartment/additional-subject candidates. The PSEB 2026 cycle has been one of the most structured and well-planned editions in recent years, with the board releasing all key documents, schedules, and results in advance.
The PSEB Class 10 date sheet 2026 was officially released on December 30, 2025. The board later revised it on January 8, 2026. The matric theory exams are conducted in a single shift from 11:00 AM to 2:15 PM.
Sanskrit, Urdu, German, French, and NSQF vocational subjects are also included in the schedule. Students are advised to download the full PDF from pseb.ac.in for the complete subject-wise timetable.
The PSEB 12th date sheet 2026 was announced alongside the Class 10 schedule on December 30, 2025. The Class 12 board exams run over a longer window to accommodate Science, Commerce, and Arts streams.
Shiksha.com and other education portals divide the Class 12 date sheet stream-wise (Science, Commerce, Arts) for easier reference, though the Punjab Board releases a single consolidated date sheet.
The PSEB Class 12 admit card 2026 was released on February 4, 2026.
The PSEB Class 10 admit card 2026 was released on February 5, 2026, following the same distribution process.
Important: Students must carry their admit card to every exam. No candidate is allowed to sit for the PSEB board exam without a valid hall ticket.
PSEB revised its exam pattern for 2026. Three major changes were introduced:
1. Reduction in MCQ Weightage The share of objective-type (multiple choice) questions was reduced from 40% to 25%. This means more marks are now allocated to descriptive and application-based answers.
2. Questions from Within Chapter Content Previously, 100% of questions were sourced from end-of-chapter exercises. The 2026 pattern includes 25% of questions from within the chapter — from diagrams, sidebars, and in-text content — alongside the remaining 75% from end-of-chapter exercises.
3. Greater Focus on Application-Based Long-Answer Questions The new pattern emphasises analytical thinking. For example:
Passing Criteria:
The PSEB syllabus 2025-26 for Class 10 and Class 12 is available for download as subject-wise PDFs on pseb.ac.in. The board releases the complete syllabus at the start of the academic year.
Key points:
The PSEB 2026 results for Class 10 and Class 12 are expected to be announced in May 2026 on the official website, pseb.ac.in, once the evaluation process is completed.
Tip: Keep your PSEB roll number handy well before the result date. The board's website experiences heavy traffic on result day — try accessing the result via alternative portals if the main site is slow.
Board exams cover the full year's syllabus. Ideally, begin serious revision by November–December to give yourself 3–4 months of focused preparation before the February–March examinations.
Practice at least 5 years of previous PSEB question papers. Question patterns in Mathematics, Science, and Social Science tend to repeat year to year. Solving past papers also helps you understand the marking scheme and manage your time effectively during the exam.
For Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics in Class 12, reading NCERT textbooks from cover to cover is essential. The PSEB syllabus for these subjects is closely modelled on NCERT.
Not all chapters carry equal marks. Focus your revision on topics that appear frequently in board exams and carry higher marks in the paper.
Given the 2026 pattern changes, Social Science map work (20% of paper) and Science data-based case study questions deserve dedicated practice.
The board releases official PSEB model papers (sample papers) for Class 10 and Class 12. These are the most accurate reflection of the current exam format and must be solved in timed conditions.
You have 15 minutes of reading time before writing begins. Use this to read the entire question paper, plan which questions to attempt first, and identify the easier sections.
PSEB conducts exams not just for regular school students, but also for:
Private students can download their admit cards directly from pseb.ac.in and check results using their registration number.
