Ans.
Problems Caused by Polybags
Respected Principal, Learned Teachers and My Dear Fellow-students! Today, I stand before you to express my views on the problems caused by the use of polybags. Dear friends, we see that the use of polybags has increased very much in everyday life. No doubt, they are comfortable, easy to handle, tough, beautiful and durable, but they pose a great threat to the environment around us. You will be shocked to know that these bags are harming us in many ways. A polythene is non-biodegradable substance, it does not decompose for thousands of years. As a result, the waste bags, dumped underground, cause soil pollution and turn the land barren. We bring our things in these bags from the market and on reaching home, the waste bags are thrown away. Soon, they find their way to the drains and sewage choking them. As a result, dirty water of the drains flows in the streets causing dangerous diseases. The recycled plastic bags are even greater problem. When we bring eatables packed in these bags, the eatables get contaminated as the chemicals used in making polybags gets mixed with the food. Yes, dear friends, these eatables can make us sick. We have become such slaves to convenience!
The stray animals like cows, eat them with some other eatable material. When animals eat these in large quantities, they are choked to death. Friends, polybags also cause air pollution when we burn them. Therefore, it is in our own interest that we don't use them. We should use paper bags, cloth bags and jute bags. Unless the use of polybags is totally stopped, they will continue to poison our lives. Thank you
