1. Chapter 13: Hamara Bharat — Incredible India! (Prose)

Theme: Unity in diversity, and the rich cultural heritage.

Summary:
This chapter is a celebration of the cultural richness, traditions and diversity of Bharat (India). Students are introduced to the "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" program that will help to bring people together in a network of cultural exchange across the country to promote national integration and the sharing of cultural experiences from different parts of India. The setting of this story is in a school, and as part of the Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat program, students will have the opportunity to learn more about their own cultures and traditions through the exchange of cultural experiences.A video-based lesson showcases kids across different states of India demonstrating folk art/crafts such as Aipan (Uttarakhand), Dhokra metal craft (Odisha), coconut shell craft (Kerala), and Kondapalli toys (Andhra Pradesh); demonstrating to the student that there is peace and harmony within all of these diverse cultural expressions via the unity within diversity theme.

2. Chapter 14: The Kites (Poem)

Summary:
The poem “Kite” depicts the feelings that go with kites (like free flying and excited power) through their bright images. The poet compares kites to brightly colored birds when he says "If I could only be small/light enough to ride on a kite" (a child wishes to see life through an imaginary perspective). Both experiences show the joy of flying kites with nature as well as all the simple pleasures in life.

3. Chapter 15: Ila Sachani: Embroidering Dreams with Her Feet (Prose)

Theme: Persistence, Resilience and Empowerment. 

Summary:
This chapter tells of the life of an inspirational woman from Gujarat named Ila Sachani. She was born without hands and was therefore unable to embroider like everyone else. Ilas' family gave her support, especially her mother and grandmother; they encouraged her to try and use her feet instead of her hands. Ila has persevered; she stitched using her feet, and has created an enormous number of projects, often displaying them and winning awards. She demonstrates that through perseverance, artistic talent, and the love and encouragement of a family, she is able to overcome these challenges, be creative, and demonstrate the power of self-belief and support.

The memorial is a tribute to the bravery of soldiers and is a way for us to remember who served our country. The chapter will explain why this site is a place of respect, expression of thanks and national pride so students understand the importance of remembering those who have served our country, as well as the cost of freedom.
