NEET Biology Analysis 2026: Difficulty Level, Weightage, Important Topics & Expert Insights

As in past years, the Biology section of Re-NEET 2026 is likely to be very important in determining ranks. Biology is still the subject that gives the most marks and determines the rank for NEET candidates because it makes up 50% of the total score (360 out of 720 marks). 

According to what students said, the Re-NEET 2026 paper was a little harder than the original NEET 2026 exam (3rd May 2026) but easier than NEET 2025. Most students thought it was easy to moderate, and the paper was based on the NCERT syllabus. The Biology section of RE-NEET 2026 was easy on the whole. The Biology section comprised 52 questions from the class 11 syllabus and 38 from the class 12 syllabus. In terms of question formats, there were 32 single correct answer questions, 5 assertion and reasoning questions, 11 incorrect answer questions, 14 fill-in-the-blank questions, 8 statement questions, and 8 match-the-column questions. No questions were asked from MULTIPLE CORRECT.

The highest number of questions (13) was from HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY. The number of questions from GENETICS & BIOTECHNOLOGY and PLANT PHYSIOLOGY was also the same: 11 each. There were ten questions from CELL BIOLOGY, nine from PLANT DIVERSITY, and seven from ECOLOGY.
