1.0Supreme Court of India Rejected Petitions for NEET UG Re-Test and Result Cancellation
The Supreme Court of India has upheld NEET UG 2024 results and rejected petitions for a re-test and result cancellation, citing no substantial evidence of widespread paper leaks affecting exam integrity. CJI DY Chandrachud stated there was no proof of systemic breaches despite the CBI's finding of a paper leak on May 5 originating from Hazaribagh & reaching Patna. Concerns over an ambiguous Physics question, which led to grace marks for 44 top scorers, prompted IIT Delhi's expert opinion. 2.0NEET UG 2024 Re-Exam Results Announced
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results of the NEET-UG 2024 Re-Exam on June 30th. This re-exam was conducted for 1,563 candidates impacted by the "grace marks" issue earlier this year. Additionally, NTA has released the revised scorecards for all NEET (UG) 2024 candidates, including the 1,563 who took the re-test on June 23, 2024. The Supreme Court of India mandated the re-test for the impacted candidates on June 13, 2024, which was held on June 23, 2024, where 813 candidates attended.
Provisional answer keys, along with scanned copies of OMR answer sheets and recorded responses, were made available for the 813 participants on June 28, 2024. Candidates were allowed to challenge the responses. The final answer keys for the re-test are now accessible on the NTA website. Following this, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to start the counselling process soon.
3.0NEET UG RE-Exam 2024 Analysis
The NEET 2024 Re-Exam was conducted on June 23, 2024, for 1,563 students who experienced irregularities during the original exam on May 5. Initially awarded grace marks due to time loss, the Supreme Court gave these students a choice to either accept their original scores or attempt to improve their results by taking the re-exam after the court scrapped the grace marks. The re-exam took place from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM.
Only 813 (approximately 52%) of the eligible students chose to retake the test. The results are expected by June 30, 2024, paving the way for counselling to begin on July 6, 2024.
Why was NEET-UG 2024 held again?
NEET-UG 2024 was held again after the initial results were announced. Two of the top six scorers received scores of 718 and 719 due to grace marks, causing significant turmoil nationwide. These irregularities sparked massive protests by students and various organizations, ultimately compelling the NTA to issue a clarification. The NTA explained that 1,563 candidates from six centers were given the wrong papers, and some candidates received torn OMR sheets, which resulted in them being awarded grace marks for the lost time.

NEET-UG Result 2024: The NTA announced the NEET UG result 2024 on 4th June 2024 on its official website. Candidates can check and download their results by entering their Roll number and date of birth on the NTA website.

NEET UG 2024 Exam Date
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has set the date for the NEET UG exam on May 05, 2024. Since the exam is coming up, it’s expected that NTA will soon provide important information about how to apply for NEET UG 2024, along with an official announcement. Once the registration form for NEET UG 2024 is available, candidates must go to the official website at neet.nta.nic.in to complete the registration process.
In 2024, 24,06,079 candidates registered for the NEET UG exam, which took place on 05 May 2024(Sunday). Out of these, 24,027,74 were Indian, 1196 were foreigners, 1304 were NRI, and 805 were OCI candidates.

NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates planning to take the NEET UG 2024 exam should check the eligibility criteria set by NTA before applying. Eligible candidates include Indian citizens, NRIs, OCI holders, PIOs, and foreign nationals. Age-wise, candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2023.
NEET Application Form 2024
The NEET application process is completely online. To apply, go to the official NEET website, click on the 'Application Form' tab, and register with your personal details. After registration, you will receive an application number and password, which you will use to enter your personal, and educational information, and documentation. Once you complete each step and submit the final application along with the fee, the NTA will send a confirmation of your application to you.

Aspiring candidates download the syllabus from the official website. It is notified to all the stakeholders, especially the students preparing for the exam, that the Under-Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), an autonomous body of the NMC, has finalized the syllabus for NEET UG 2024. The information was given in an official notice.
