3.0Chapter-Wise NEET Physics Revision Notes

1. Physical World and Units & Measurement

This chapter sets the foundation. Revision must focus on:

  • SI units and their dimensional formulas
  • Significant figures and rules of rounding
  • Errors in measurement — absolute, relative, and percentage error
  • Dimensional analysis and its applications

NEET rarely asks direct theory questions from this chapter. Instead, dimensional analysis is often used as a tool in other chapters. Make sure you can derive and verify formulas using dimensions.

2. Kinematics

One of the highest-weightage topics in NEET Physics.

Key areas to revise:

  • Equations of motion (v = u + at, s = ut + ½at², v² = u² + 2as)
  • Projectile motion — range, maximum height, time of flight
  • Relative velocity — especially on horizontal and vertical planes
  • Motion under gravity, including free fall

5.0Common Mistakes to Avoid While Revising Physics for NEET

Over-reading without practising: Many students spend too much time re-reading notes and not enough time solving questions. A good rule of thumb — for every hour of reading, spend at least an hour solving MCQs.

Ignoring units and dimensions: NEET often sets traps with unit conversions and dimensional inconsistencies. Always check your units, especially in electrostatics and thermodynamics.

Skipping diagrams: Ray diagrams, circuit diagrams, and free body diagrams are frequently needed to decode NEET questions. Practice drawing them quickly and accurately.

Not revising Modern Physics: This chapter has significant weightage and is largely formula-based, making it one of the easiest to score in with the right preparation.

Leaving Numericals for later: Numerical problems in chapters like Current Electricity, Optics, and Kinematics require regular practice. Don't push them to the last week.

6.0Last 15 Days NEET Physics Strategy

With two weeks to go, your strategy should shift completely to retention and speed:

  • Days 1–5: Full-length mock tests every day (timed, exam-like conditions). Review every incorrect answer in detail.
  • Days 6–10: Chapter-wise rapid revision using only your formula sheet and short notes. Focus on the chapters where you lost marks in mock tests.
  • Days 11–13: Solve only PYQ-based questions. Focus on accuracy over speed.
  • Day 14–15: Light revision of formula sheet, key diagrams, and important constants (value of G, h, e, c, etc.). Rest well.

The goal in the last 15 days is not to learn anything new — it's to ensure everything you already know shows up reliably in the exam hall.
