Frequently Asked Questions

Bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and some algae are the four main groups. These tiny microbes are found all over the place and can be both good and bad for you

Viruses behave as non-living entities outside host cells but replicate within living cells. Unlike real microorganisms, they can't reproduce on their own; they need a host's machinery.

Lactobacillus bacteria turn milk sugar (lactose) into lactic acid, which makes curd. This fermentation makes milk thicker and gives curd its sour taste and texture.

Pathogens are tiny living things that cause disease and get into the body through food, water, or air. Bacteria can cause cholera and viruses can cause the flu.

Pasteurisation heats milk to about 70°C for 30 minutes and then cools it down quickly. This kills bad bacteria while keeping the taste and nutrients in the milk.
