2.0What is the INJSO?
INJSO is an annual science Olympiad organized by HBCSE, a well-known centre for learning and research in science education. It is a multi-stage competition designed to challenge students' understanding of basic scientific principles in every conceivable field: Physics, Maths, Biology, and Earth Science.
- The top 300 kids nationwide who place first in the NSEJS will participate to the Indian National Jr. Science Olympiad (INJSO), which IAPT runs.
- The top 35 INJSO candidates are invited to IISC Bangalore for the Stage 3 Orientation/Selection Camp. The students at Indian schools studying in Class 10 or below are eligible to take the INJSO Examination.
- The IJSO selections are made from INJSO. The competition tries to identify talented science students, encourage them, and guide them toward the scientific and research fields.
Please Note: Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO) is the 2nd Stage of Junior Science Olympiad program. After INJSO exam, next step for the eligible students is the Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Junior Science/Jr. Astro.
3.0INJSO Examination 2025 Overview
4.0Stages of the INJSO
The INJSO typically comes in a multi-step form:
Stage 1: Regional Level—This is the pre-test conducted at the regional level in all centres across India. It is a paper examination in which students undergo testing regarding their scientific knowledge and reasoning skills.
Stage 2: National Level Students who top the regional stage qualify for the national level. This stage includes a more difficult written examination and may have practical or experimental components.
Stage 3: International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO): Winners at the country level go through another process of filtration, and they get an opportunity to participate for their respective countries in the International Junior Science Olympiad. The students at the IJSO have to undergo stiff theoretical and practical tests from all over the world.
