Level 1 for the 2024 session has been scheduled, and students who qualify will advance to Level 2, which will be scheduled later by the official authorities.

3.0Class 8 IMO 2024 Curriculum

The syllabus for Class 8 encompasses a broad spectrum of mathematical disciplines, encouraging students to explore beyond their school curriculum.

  • Section 1: Logical Reasoning

Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

  • Section 2:Mathematical Reasoning

Covers core topics such as Integers, Fractions and Decimals, Exponents and Powers, Algebraic Expressions, Simple Linear Equations, Lines and Angles, Comparing Quantities, The Triangle and its Properties, Symmetry, Congruence of Triangles, Rational Numbers, Perimeter and Area, Data Handling, Visualizing Solid Shapes, Practical Geometry.

  • Section 3:Everyday Mathematics

The Syllabus of this section will be based on the Syllabus of Mathematical Reasoning.

4.0Eligibility for Class 8 Students in IMO 2024

The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), offers two levels of competition for students in grades 1-12: Level 1 and 2.

Level 1 - Eligibility:

  • Open to all students in grades 1-12.
  • No specific academic requirements or minimum scores are needed to participate.

Level 2 - Selection:

  • Internationally: The top 5% of participants from each class, based on global participation in the first level exam.
  • Zone/State Level: The highest 25 performers in each class from every Zone/State.
  • School Level: The highest scorer in each class, provided that at least 10 students from the class participated and achieved a minimum of 50% qualifying marks.

Note: Level 1 performance determines the final ranking for students in grades 1 and 2.
