1.0IMO 2026-27 Notification: Key Details
The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) offers the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) as a challenge for students in grades 1 to 12. This competition assesses mathematical abilities through two levels: Level 1 and Level 2.
The Level 1 exam for the 2026-27 IMO has already been scheduled. Those who qualify will progress to the Level 2 exam, scheduled for Feb 2027, with results expected in March 2027(Tentative).

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has officially announced the dates and a tentative schedule for the International Math Olympiad Class 3 Exam on its website.

The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) syllabus is designed to assess and
challenge students' mathematical abilities from Class 1 onwards. The problems become more challenging as students progress to higher grades, ensuring they have an interesting and suitable learning experience.
The new syllabus has a similar format for all grades, with four parts in each class's question paper. Here is the syllabus for class 3 for your reference

5.0IMO Class 3 Eligibility Criteria
Level 1: Students of Class 3 enrolled in a school recognised by SOF. There are no other eligibility criteria.
Level 2 (Class 3 onwards): A student qualifies if they meet any one of these:
- International level: Among the class-wise top 5% of participants in Level 1.
- Zone/State level: Among the top 25 rank holders in each class in each zone.
- School level: The class topper, where at least 10 students from the class appeared and the topper scored at least 50%.

7.0IMO Class 3 Registration 2026-27
Individual student registrations are not accepted. Participation is only through schools registered with SOF, and schools submit registrations at least 30 days before the chosen Level 1 date.
- Registered schools receive the prospectus and registration forms.
- Schools collect student registrations by the deadline and send them to SOF.
- SOF generates unique roll numbers.
- Unregistered schools can email info@sofworld.org or call 0124-4951200.
IMO Registration Fee: ₹170 per student in India, Bhutan, and Nepal. The previous year's fee was ₹125.
8.0IMO Class 3 Admit Card
SOF sends admit cards to participating schools before the exam. Students collect them from school and carry them on exam day.
9.0IMO Class 3 Sample Papers (PDF)
SOF has released IMO Class 3 sample papers on its official website. Practising them helps students learn the pattern, question format, and difficulty level, and builds confidence

10.0IMO Answer Key, Cutoff and Result 2026-27
- Answer key: Released a few weeks after each Level 1 date (last year's Set C key was out on 2 January 2026).
- Level 1 result: Tentatively January 2027 (last year: 15 January 2026, with the cutoff a day earlier).
- Level 2 result: Tentatively March 2027.
