Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2024

Vidhyarti Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). VVM is a national program aimed at popularizing science among school students from standard VI to XI, conceptualized to identify bright minds with a scientific aptitude from the student community.

Those who wish to build a career in science or explore the vast knowledge of science can appear for the exam by filling out the online application form. Registered students will be allowed to take the exam from their own devices, namely, a smartphone (mobile), laptop, or desktop, either from their school or home. In this article, we will discuss the VVM exam, its eligibility, registration process, and the objectives behind the exam.

1.0Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Exam 2024: Comprehensive Overview

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is India's largest Science Talent Search Examination for school students of standard VI to XI. It aims to identify bright minds with a scientific aptitude from the student community. VVM is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with NCERT and NCSM, under the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, respectively. It is a national program to popularize science among students and is conducted online through a unique app-based science talent search examination.

Qualifying Criterion

Answers of Section-B will be checked only if a student secures equal or more than 50% (i.e. equal to or more than 20 Marks) in Section-A.

Note: 

  • Answers of Section-B will be evaluated only if a student secures equal to or more than 50% (i.e., equal to or more than 20 Marks) in Section-A. 
  • The final merit list to identify participants for State Level Camp would be prepared on the basis of total marks scored in both segments namely Section-A & Section-B. 
  • In case, there is tie in rankings, marks obtained in Section-A will be the deciding one.

Students participating in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) undergo a comprehensive multi-level testing process designed to assess their scientific aptitude and knowledge. The exam pattern includes:

  • Students answer questions covering various scientific concepts with multiple-choice options.
  • Participants demonstrate their understanding of scientific topics through written responses.
  • Students engage in group discussions and present their findings or viewpoints on scientific topics.
  • This component involves students taking on roles related to scientific scenarios, demonstrating their problem-solving abilities and understanding of scientific principles.
  • Practical examination tests students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
  • Assessment of students' understanding of scientific methods and processes.

6.0Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) Registration

The application process for Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is simple and straightforward. Here's how you can register:

  • Individual Registration: Students can register by providing necessary details such as Name, Date of Birth, Create Password, Class, School Name, Address, District, State, etc.
  • Verification: After entering the details, the VVM admin will verify the information by sending OTPs (One-Time Passwords) to the registered Mobile Number and Email ID. Both OTPs are different and must be entered for the verification process to be completed.
  • Online Payment: Students can proceed to make the online payment through the provided payment gateway options.
  • Unique Username and Password: After registration, each student will receive a unique username (sent to the registered email ID) and password in encrypted format.
  • Exam Date Selection: Students cannot make changes to the selected date. 
  • They must ensure to have access to a device with good internet connectivity on the chosen date and time.
  • Exam Attempt: Students can attempt the exam only once on the decided dates by the officials.
  • Evaluation Criteria: Students will be evaluated based on the school address mentioned during registration.
  • Device Specification: Students must specify the details of the device from which they plan to take the exam in order to download the compatible VVM Exam App.
  • Confirmation or Device Change: Students can confirm the displayed details or change the device by providing the necessary information before the exam date.

7.0VVM Exam Fee Structure

To participate in the Vidhyarti Vigyan Manthan (VVM) program, students registering individually or through their schools are required to pay a registration fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Hundred Only).

For schools or institutes coordinating the registration process, a service charge of Rs. 30/- per student is applicable, which is to be retained by the school/institute. The remaining amount is to be transferred solely through Online Payment Mode to the VVM Delhi office. When making the payment through an account transfer, it is essential to upload the receipt and transaction ID, along with the submission of transaction details.

Modes of Fee Payment:

  • Fee: Rs. 200/ , without Late Fee
  • Mode of Payment: Through payment gateway and ONLINE (RTGS/NEFT) and Challan payment only
  • Note: NO CASH/ DD / Cheque payments will be accepted.

Individually registering students are requested to make their payments exclusively through the online mode (payment gateway).

8.0VVM 2024 Result

Following the VVM 2024 examination, the results will be promptly announced on the official VVM website, unveiling students' individual scores and rankings, offering valuable insights into their performance. Keep an eye out for updates regarding the release of the VVM 2024 results.

Students from classes VI to XI under CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards are eligible to enroll for this national examination.

The exam lasts for 90 minutes, divided into two sections: Section A: 30 Minutes (40 Questions, 40 Marks) Section B: 60 Minutes (60 Questions, 60 Marks)

Exams are conducted at various centers nationwide. Schools with over 50 enrolled students will serve as designated examination centers.
